The Flying Saucer Disc Golf Metro Detroit Championship Series Finals week has finally arrived.

It has been a great summer of Disc Golf in the Metro Detroit Area and the Champions will be crowned for the 2007 season by week’s end.

All points for the Motor City Open are worth double.

Double points can make standings change very quickly if you are close to the leader in your division.



So here are the event details:



Sunday - August 26, 2007 is the 10th Annual Motor City Open. The event itself is a sanctioned PDGA Pro C Tier / AM B Tier event.

This event is also an MDGO Feature Event. We will be handing out 12 Berth’s to players who have not yet qualified to participate in the Michigan Disc Golf Championship event held on Labor Day weekend in Ludington, Michigan. The Motor City Open will be held at the Gale Vaughn Memorial Disc Golf Course at River Bends Park in Shelby Township.

Registration starts at 8 am and ends at 9 am.

The players’ meeting is soon after 9 am and tee off is at 9:30 am.

The course WILL be closed to casual players from 6am until 7pm.



We are estimating the Series Ace Pool to be over $500.

Currently the Series Ace Pool stands at $416.

Someone is going to win it all on the day of the event.



Mr. Pita lunches will be available for those who wish participate.

A dollar for each box lunch will be rolled back into the payouts.



The Red Bull Energy Team will be at the park during the competition.

The McCarty Cancer Foundation donation is currently at $1405.00.

Great players’ packages for the Amateurs and a couple of extra treats for everyone are still in the works for the event!!!



The Motor City Open Awards Ceremony will be followed by the Flying Saucer Metro Detroit Championship Awards Ceremony.
