These things work best with involvement

A few years ago the township, having just purchased a much larger piece of property, was very interested in disc golf, but there were issues of environmental sensitivity as well as the cost of clearing land, etc., and some disc golfer chaos as well. They clearly wanted that piece to be a "preservation" piece, so we backed off.

I have received a reply from the Parks & Rec Director at Pittsfield, having sent him a message about the possibility of a disc golf course in this new piece of property, and about some of the courses I had seen - little or no clearing to be done, no environmental sensitivities - and his reply starts out "Great idea!"

So, I don't want to blow this opportunity. There will be community meetings in the fall about this and I want to ensure solid disc golf representation.
